Go For It NI<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/workspace.org.uk\/business-start-up\/go-for-it-programme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Go For It Programme<\/a> isn\u2019t a traditional grant but does offer business advice and financial planning to businesses starting out in the Mid Ulster area. Seed Fund Programme<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Grant amount:<\/strong> up to \u00a31,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As well as a startup fund of up to \u00a31,000, the <a href=\"\/\/www.causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk\/news\/seed-fund-offers-up-to-1000-bursary-to-support-start-up-businesses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Seed Fund Programme<\/a> offers mentoring and training opportunities. It\u2019s available for both full time and part time businesses covering a range of sectors, as long as you\u2019re currently unemployed and based in Causeway Coast and Glens Borough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"succeed\">3. Go Succeed<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Grant amount:<\/strong> up to \u00a34,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/go-succeed.com\/grants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Go Succeed<\/a> offers mentoring for small businesses and startups. If you\u2019ve completed more than half of your training with Go Succeed and have identified a barrier for growth, you\u2019re able to apply for a grant to help with your business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"revitalisation\"><strong>Can I get a grant to improve my business premises?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One way to find a business grant in Northern Ireland is to focus on grants for revitalising commercial properties. So whether you already have a business premise that could be eligible, or you\u2019re searching for a grant to help you secure a property, keep reading to see if one of these grants could be for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"back\">1. Back in Business<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nibusinessinfo.co.uk\/content\/back-business-rate-support\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Back in Business scheme<\/a> offers a 50 per cent rate discount for up to two years if your business premises were vacant for more than twelve months before you moved in. If you\u2019re currently searching for your business property, it could be worth looking for vacant premises and evaluating their potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applications for the scheme close on 31 March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"heritage\">2. Heritage Enterprise<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Grant amount:<\/strong> \u00a3250,000 to \u00a35,000,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You may also want to consider if a historic building could be right for your business. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/business-finance-support\/heritage-enterprise-he-uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Heritage Enterprise grant<\/a> offers between \u00a3250,000 to \u00a35,000,000 for those who can restore a neglected historic building while helping the local economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applications for this grant are assessed on a quarterly basis and in two stages (development and delivery).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"nba-body-001\">\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"rural\">3. Rural Shopfront (Minor Works) Scheme<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Grant amount: <\/strong>up to \u00a312,500<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your business is located in a rural area and is one of the following, you could be eligible for funding that allows you to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nibusinessinfo.co.uk\/business-support\/rural-shopfront-minor-works-scheme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">carry out minor repairs or alterations on your shopfron<\/a>t:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">shop<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">hair and beauty salon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">hospitality business<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">financial and professional service<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">community service<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Areas eligible for this grant include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">Aghalee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">Annahilt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">Ballinderry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">Dromara<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">Drumbeg<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">Glenavy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">Maghaberry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">Milltown<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">Moneyreagh<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Royal Hillsborough and Moira are excluded from this scheme as they\u2019re covered under the Heritage Shopfront scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can receive a grant of up to \u00a312,500, as long as you can pay 20 per cent of the project costs. You can either own the property or be a tenant (as long as you have permission from the property owner).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"young\"><strong>Are there grants for young entrepreneurs?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Young business owners may face struggles, but there is financial and mentoring support available. Here are two options to consider as a young entrepreneur in Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"swef\">1. SWEF Enterprise Fund&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Grant amount:<\/strong> up to \u00a32,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re a young entrepreneur who has already started running their own business but needs additional financial support, you could apply for the <a href=\"https:\/\/communityfoundationni.org\/grants\/swef\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">SWEF Enterprise Fund<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019ll need to meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">be between the ages of 18-30<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">be living in Northern Ireland<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">your business must have been trading for less than two years (if you don\u2019t yet have a business, you must be planning to start your own business soon)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">be from a low-income household or facing other financial challenges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applications for this grant are assessed monthly. If you receive a grant from the SWEF Enterprise Fund, it must be spent within one month of receipt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fs2fs\">2. From Student to First Sale (FS2FS)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Grant amount:<\/strong> \u00a315,000&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recent graduates looking to start their own business can get a \u00a315,000 salary subsidy to help as you get started. As this grant is part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investni.com\/support-for-business\/support-for-local-start-ups\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Invest NI<\/a>, you\u2019ll need to meet their specific criteria, which includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">a turnover of \u00a3250k a year within five years<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">achieve at least 25 per cent of sales outside of Northern Ireland<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"upgrades\"><strong>Are there grants for upgrading your internet?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grants can be a powerful tool for upgrading the necessities of running your business that can be easy to forget about. Innovation Vouchers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Grant amount:<\/strong> up to \u00a35,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Funded by the UK government, \u00a35,000 <a href=\"\/\/www.investni.com\/support-for-business\/innovation-research-and-development\/innovation-vouchers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Innovation Vouchers<\/a> are available for businesses looking for advice from industry experts to help them develop a product. There are some businesses that won\u2019t be eligible for the vouchers, so make sure to do your research. For example, you can\u2019t apply for Innovation Vouchers if you\u2019ve received Invest NI\u2019s Grant for R&amp;D in the past five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are four application windows for innovation vouchers each year. These usually close in February, May, September, and November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"techstart\">2. Techstart Proof of Concept Grant Fund<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whatever your trade, if you\u2019re developing a product and think it\u2019s rooted in innovation, this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techstartgrants.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">proof of concept grant<\/a> could be for you. The grant has been running for ten years and has awarded almost 500 businesses so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s open to all business ideas, not just those in the technology space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Techstart Proof of Concept Grant offers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">Concept Grants up to \u00a315,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">Concept Plus Grants up to \u00a330,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be eligible for the grant you\u2019ll need to be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">a sole trader, partnership, or limited company<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\">a resident in Northern Ireland (if you\u2019re applying as a limited company, then the company must be registered in Northern Ireland)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"invest\">3. Invest NI Grant for R&amp;D<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This grant can help Northern Irish businesses develop innovative products.
